MAJMA
A WEEKEND OF MIDDLE EASTERN AND ARABIC DANCE
Since 1998 Glastonbury has been the host of the now familiar and looked forward to annual event, The Majma Weekend. The word Majma means "Gathering", and this is indeed a gathering of like minds, women travel from all over the UK, to learn the history, philosophy, rituals and movements of Eastern and Arabic dance. Some instructors come from the UK, but others coming from as far away as Egypt, Greece, Iran, Hawaii and America. They teach breathing techniques, balance, muscle control, everything needed to prepare for the intricacies of many dance forms including American Tribal and Belly Dancing
